Today Andy Codd, a road safety coordinator from Liverpool City Council, came to talk to the children in Key Stage One about all the ways in which we can stay safe near a road.
They learned about traffic lights, zebra crossings and were even able to answer a question that Andy reported not many schools have been able to get right; ‘What is the first thing you should do when you’re about to cross a road?’ – Stop!
They went on to learn the full phrase: ‘Stop, Look and Listen’ and we hope this will ensure that our children are much more alert when out and about with their families and near busy roads.
