Last week all children had a fabulous time getting creative in a variety of ways during our arts week.
Children in Year 1 and Year 2 worked with professional artist Eimear Kavanagh. They produced fantastic work inspired by Aboriginal dot art and telling stories using painting.
Children in Reception and Nursery met Phil Disley a professional illustrator and cartoonist who showed them how to draw faces and why the face is such an important part of expressive art.
Across the school we explored how we can use technology in creative ways. Nursery children used the Sphero robot to create Jackson Pollock inspired art. Children in Reception worked on their control skills using the program ‘Paint’ to create colourful Elmer artwork. Year 1 children had a great time being introduced to the basics of photography and Year 2 had a glimpse into the future with a lesson on 3D printing and using the Computer Aided Design program ‘Sketchup’ to explore 3D drawing. Big thanks to Mrs Medikhani with all her support with our art technology!
